An early warning system for flooding is being implemented across the Alicante Province to help local authorities in the Vega Baja to manage extreme weather, such as Gota Frias.
The system is one of the first of its kind in Spain and will provide information to 27 town councils through technology called ‘Smart River Basins’.
The public-private collaboration between the provincial government and Hidraqua will be made available free of charge.
