Policia Local in Alicante have closed a restaurant in the city which had six employees working on the premises – all of whom tested positive for the coronavirus.
Officers inspected the premises last Friday after spotting a high number of customers inside the eatery. Further investigations discovered that a member of staff was found to be working, despite having a positive test result. The premises were then closed until Sunday to allow for deep cleaning and sanitisation of the premises.
However on Saturday the establishment reopened, officers discovered a further six members of staff who were now testing positive for the virus.
The owners and management of the restaurant are due to appear in court in the coming days on public health charges.
