One in ten of every vehicle on the roads of Alicante Province do not have the correct insurance documents. This exceeds the national average of 9 percent, according to newly published government figures.
Uninsured vehicles cannot pass the legally required ITV inspection and drivers face fines of up to 3,000 euros if caught without the required documents.
