A 43-year-old British man is in an induced coma after suffering a broken neck after diving into a swimming pool in Tenerife.
Chris Watkins from Pontypool in South Wales is currently undergoing treatment in Santa Cruz, after the accident at the Aparthotel Columbus in Playa de las Americas.
It’s understood he struck his head after diving into the pool. When lifeguards rescued him from the water he was conscious and said he couldn’t feel his legs.
An appeal has been launched by his family in an effort to cover his medical and repatriation costs, with well wishers already donating over £21,000.
