A woman who lost her wedding ring on the main beach at Guardamar has been banned from using metal detector specialists to find it, due to a local law. Metal detectors are banned to protect archaeological sites near to the shoreline of the town. Desperate for help and unaware of the law, the woman contacted the Valencian Association of Detectors to see if members could help. However, despite the pleas of the professionals the council has refused to grant permission, and the ring will now remain in the sand.
