As local towns celebrate their beaches once again being given ‘Blue Flag’ status, Benidorm’s Poniente Beach has been stripped of its award. Luckily, the tourist town’s other two iconic beaches, Levante and Mas Pas will continue to fly the flag.
The Blue Flag was revoked after sea water samples were found to be below the required standard, a discovery Benidorm’s Beaches Councillor is calling a ‘an isolated rogue sample’.
