Boozy Bust

More than 20,230 bottles of illegal wine have been seized in raids on an Alicante Province distillery. The bottles were all missing an official tax seal and had fake batch and capacity paperwork. The distillery was also re-using bottles with seals in place. The discovery was made in a hidden room close to the warehouse. Police and tax officials then began to trace where the bootleg wine was being sold and visited 14 establishments, including five in Benidorm and two in Calpe.
