The number of British tourists who visited Spain in January increased by 1,461%, compared to the year before – according to data released by the national statistics agency INE.
In the latest figures, the Canaries was the top destination nationwide, with primarily British and German visitors. Catalonia and Andalucía are placed in second and third place for destinations of choice.
In the Canaries, tourist volumes rose by 777%, with a total of 759,765 visitors to the archipelago in January. The Valencian Community saw tourist figures rise by 463%, with a total of 281,261 tourists arriving to the region.
