A commercial court in Spain has ruled that FIFA and UEFA should not prevent clubs from taking part in the controversial European Super League it was announced yesterday.
The court ruled that football federations should not adopt restrictive measures against teams who wish to join the new competition.
Meanwhile Atletico Madrid and FC Barcelona have suggested they may join Chelsea and Manchester City in leaving the new championship until they have the support of the teams fans.
Real Madrid is the third Spanish team to be part of the proposed league – their position in remaining in the tournament is currently unknown.
