An investigation by the Congress of Deputies into the use of undisclosed credit cards by the former King has been vetoed by members of PSOE, PP and Vox during a vote held in the Cortes yesterday.
In the session held at the Table of the Congress, Unidos Podemos were the only party to vote in favour of the investigation, putting them at odds with their coalition partners.
On Tuesday lawyers for the Spanish Parliament said there was no legal issue with the parliament holding a separate investigation into the financial affairs of the emeritus King.
