Another grim milestone has been passed, as the total number of recorded coronavirus infections in Spain reached three million since the start of the pandemic.
Along with the number of infections, a further 760 covid-19 related deaths were also reported, bringing the death toll to over 63,000.
However government studies are suggesting that the real number of infections may be much higher, after blood samples suggest the figure of infections may be closer to 4.7 million – ten percent of the population.
Meanwhile the Government has announced that it will extend the travel ban on the UK, Brazil, and South Africa until March 2 out of concern over new virus variants.
Border control measures with Portugal will also to remain in force until March.
