It’s understood five regional presidents are to request that the Government reintroduce legislation mandating the wearing of masks outdoors as coronavirus infection rates continue to rise.
In a series of press conferences, the regional leaders of Andalusia, Castilla-La Mancha, the Valencian Community, Galicia and the Basque Country have said they will highlight the need to reinstate the rules surrounding the wearing of masks outdoors.

Regional heads are due to meet in a video conference tomorrow where a co-ordinated approach to tackling the increase in infection is due to be discussed.

Former King tests negative after Nadal meeting
Meanwhile the emeritus King – Juan Carlos I – has tested negative for Covid-19 after meeting with tennis player Rafael Nadal. The Spanish tennis player announced he tested positive for the virus and was in quarantine after returning to Spain from Abu Dhabi.
