Minister of Health – Carolina Darias – has confirmed that a nationwide rollout of a 4th covid vaccine will begin in the coming months.
In a press conference yesterday, Ms. Darias confirmed that the entire population would be offered a second booster jab as epidemologists warn of another wave of coronavirus infections this autumn.
The Public Health Commission approved the fourth dose in a meeting this week, with a date yet to be confirmed for the drive to begin, however sources suggest it may be in the last 4 months of the year.
In January a further booster shot was approved for those who were deemed high risk – the new decision however means the entire population would receive a further booster vaccine.
