A coroner in Somerset has recorded a verdict of accidental death in inquest into the drowing of a teenage girl in Tenerife.
17-year-old Leah Wilson from Bridgwater in Somerset, was found dead in a swimming pool on the morning of 12 August 2019 after going out with friends the night before.
A post-mortem found alcohol and traces of drugs in her blood.
The teenager had been playing cards with friends, when they returned to their holiday villa and all went to bed.
During the inquest a friend said that she thought Ms Wilson was trying to get a ten-euro note which had fallen in the villa’s swimming pool when she got into difficulties.
