
A new taxi service has been announced for Barcelona, which is expected to launch in the next 2 years – flying taxi’s.
The national airspace operator – Enaire – is working with tech giants to develop the first autonomous air taxi services in Barcelona and Santiago de Compostella.
Enaire’s director general, Ángel Luis Arias, told a conference this week that urban mobility needed to move into a third dimension – namely airspace.
Multinational technology company Everis is understood to be developing the technology for the system, should research prove the viability of the service.
