The owner of a Valencia Province livestock farm and 34 others have been arrested for selling horse meat from sick animals, netting 4.5 million euros. The gang illegally traded horses to be slaughtered for meat that was not fit for human consumption. The scam involved vets and slaughterhouses. Guardia Civil officers rescued 80 horses during the operation.
