Two earthquakes shook the Vega Baja awake yesterday morning, Monday 28th March. The National Geographic Institute (IGN) recorded the first earthquake at 12:48am with a magnitude of 2.2 and a depth of 6 kilometres.
The second tremor was recorded just an hour or so later at 2am and this time it was of a smaller magnitude of 1.8. Luckily, the low velocity left no structural damage, but emergency services received a few calls to report shaking and movement in some homes.
