A new scheme of biological pest control has been launched across Alicante, it was announced yesterday.
As part of an attempt to provide a beneficial treatment for the regions flora and fauna, insects which eat pests such as aphids and red spiders have been released to bring the population of unwanted insects under control naturally.
These insects do not reproduce, which will prevent overpopulation on the citys plantlife.
Alongside insects, biological soaps are also being applied. These are chemical free and are designed to repel unwanted insects, rather than kill them.
