The European Commission has approved plans by the Spanish and Portuguese governments to place a price cap on the cost of gas.
Portuguese Prime Minister – António Costa – announced this Monday that the European Commission had given it’s approval to the plan, which will now appear before members of the Congress of Deputies today for ratification.
In an interview yesterday, Minister for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge – Teresa Ribera – said legislation could be passed swiftly to bring in the new cap which would prevent spiralling costs for both domestic and commercial gas users.
