The European Commission has said that it expects the Spanish economy will lead the economic recovery of the EU post pandemic.
In a forecast issued by the Unions executive branch, they said that Spain’s strong GDP growth would place it as the economy that would lead the rest of the bloc out of the pandemic recession.
Forecasts suggest a 5.6% expansion of the Spanish economy this year, after contracting 11% last year due to lockdown restrictions.
Just behind Spain will come Croatia, Slovenia, Malta, Portugal, Slovakia and Hungary.
