National Police in Cocentaina, Alicante Province, have arrested a textile factory boss for exploiting workers. The 44-year-old Moroccan was perceived to be running a leading clothes recycling company but in reality workers were forced into 12-hour shifts with no breaks, six days-a-week.
Workers received just 400e in cash with on contracts, rights or social security benefits. There was no ventilation in any of the three warehouses and no Covid safety measures were in place.
Some workers have been charged with breaking immigration laws.
