A fire in an apartment in Elche has resulted in three fire-fighters being injured and eight other people admitted to hospital. The fire-fighters were all suffering from burns, one of them second degree burns.
Five residents were treated for the affects of smoke inhalation and taken by ambulance from the scene of the second-storey blaze in Puerta de Alicante. The other three were treated at the local health centre.
