Five regions close internal borders, with Madrid and Andalusía expected to make decision shortly

The Basque Region, Aragon, Asturias, Navarra and La Rioja have closed their internal borders in an effort to reduce the spread of the coronavirus, with Madrid and Andalusia expected to make an imminent decision if they too will be closing their border.

The Spanish enclave of Melilla has also introduced a full regional lockdown, however the regions airport and sea port is still operating.

Alongside the regions, 334 municipalities nationwide have introduced perimeter controls with a total of 1220 areas under some form of restriction.
