The Mastral Project has announced that flamingos continue to be born at Torrevieja Lagoon and more eggs are still being incubated by the adult birds. This is the third consecutive year the reproduction of flamingos has been successful and co-ordinators believe that the number of chicks exceeds that of previous years.
The flamingos are breeding in a very remote and inaccessible area, a fact that has helped ensure that reproduction has not been jeopardised.
