UTE Alicante, the street cleaning and waste collection service, has collected 1,900 tons of green waste during 2021 from private prunings.
The months of April and August, have the highest volumes of cuttings with more than 200,000 kilos of plant mass generated and during the last two years of the Covid-19 pandemic, the volume has increased. The waste is turned into high-quality compost used in local green spaces and parks.
