Spain’s largest coal fired power plant – As Pontes – may come out of returement as concerns over the supply of gas rises.
Teresa Ribera – Minister of Ecological Transition – yesterday requested a feasability study from Red Eléctrica to determine if it was economically viable to reopen the plant.
The request came as ministers have called on energy producers to offer solutions to meet the shortfall in gas supplies due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
