The Generalitat Valenciana has strengthened the Forest Fire Service with 16 additional units across the region. This is an extra 180 people in total to deal with natural blazes as the summer season approaches. One of these units has been incorporated into the service offered in Guardamar del Segura and will run until the end of October.
More than 8,012 calls relating to forest fires were received across the Valencian Community in 2021 and 1,861 incidents were dealt with.
