Residents visiting the Health Centre at Cabo Roig, which covers the whole of Orihuela Costa, are calling on the local government to erect a protective sun canopy. Residents of the coast are experiencing an unbearable situation as they queue for long periods of time under the direct sun waiting to enter the centre. A canopy was installed be the previous government last summer, and residents are calling for it to be permanently reinstated for shelter against both rain and shine.
