Policia Nacional have confirmed that the investigation into an alleged homophobic attack in Madrid is being wound down, following on from new evidence supplied by the complainant.
On Wednesday a 20-year-old man – who is understood to be the person injured on Sunday night – was questioned by police, who confirmed that the injuries he sustained were consentual, and are believed to be part of a practice with two other men.
Police had been searching CCTV and gaining witness reports following on from the alleged homophobic “attack” that was initially reported on Sunday night. However when no video evidence was found, further questions concerning the circumstances of the attack were made.
It’s understood the Prosecutors Office is to determine if a crime of false reporting has been committed, which carries with it a prison sentence of between 6 months to 2 years in jail.
