Torrevieja local Police have imposed a record fine of 11,110 euros on a Norwegian man for animal cruelty after he abandoned seven cats on the street. The man threw three of the pets from a first floor balcony while he injured another by kicking it, to make it run away.
The incident happened in Calle San Emigdio, a central part the town, with neighbours alerting the police. The cats were owned by the tenant of the apartment who had died five days earlier and the Norwegian landlord was attempting to clear out the apartment prior to re-letting it.
