The International Monetary Fund has said that it expects the Spanish economy to show the most growth in developed nations this year.
In their latest ‘World Economic Outlook’ report, they forecast that the Spanish economy could grow by 5.9%. They also lowered the expected contraction for the economy last year, down from 12.8% to 11.1%.
The IMF figure is over a percentage lower than Government estimates, which expect to see growth of 7.2% and possibly even higher due to European Union recovery funds.
