Campaigning for the Catalan regional elections is drawing to a close ahead of Sunday’s vote.
Leaders of the regional parties, as well as candidates for the Generalitat will spend today asking for support ahead of the vote. However concerns over the running of the election continue after over 30% of all those summoned to manage polling stations requested leave of absence due to the pandemic.
According to official sources, postal ballots have seen a significant increase in numbers, with nearly 200,000 ballot papers returned already. The results of the vote are expected early next week.
Polling opens in the region on Sunday morning.
