The local health authority has been ordered to pay compensation of 250,000 euros to the family of a two-and-a-half-year-old boy who died after suffering repeated medical errors at the Lo Marabú de Rojales health centre and at Torrevieja Hospital in 2018.
The judge concluded that “the delay in assessing the symptoms and the delay in treating the cerebral edema were the cause of the child’s death, which could have been avoided with good medical action”.
