The government has given the green light to a solar plant in the Murcian town of Lorca. The 270-million-euro development will cover more than 380 hectares and will be created by a Madrid-based solar energy specialist. The plant will create more than 300 local jobs during construction and produce renewable and sustainable energy in its first year to supply 215,000 homes. This will stop 148,328 tonnes of carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere.
