The mandate to wear masks outdoors has come to and end – after the changes to coronavirus legislation was officially published yesterday.
On Tuesday, government spokeswoman Isabel Rodríguez confirmed that the cabinet had voted to relax the rules over mask wearing outdoors – reversing rules introduced in December following the emergence of the omicron variant of the coronavirus.
Children at school will also be able to remove any masks during break times and between classes whilst outdoors.
However, masks remain mandatory whilst indoors in public spaces including public transport, and in situations where people cannot remain socially distanced.
