The Ministry of Health has said it is monitoring the spread of the seven variants of the coronavirus across Spain.
In an update issued yesterday, the Ministry said that to date 916 cases of a variant of the virus which causes Covid-19 have been detected across the country.
The British, South African and Brazilian variants are understood to be the most prevalent, with 898 confirmed cases of the British virus detected.
Officials are monitoring the strains to determine their strength and how they react to vaccines.
The news came as it was also revealed that 4% of the Spanish population has now received their first dose of the vaccine, with more than 3 million jabs being administered.
