The Orihuela Councillor for Street Cleaning and Waste Management has announced that up to 34 new staff members are joining the workforce. There are currently 103 workers, down from 137 at its peak and the Councillor said they are working to reinforce and restore the team numbers. This move follows the recent announcement that the maintenance contract to repair numerous rubbish collection trucks has been extended.
