A moped rider was hit by a car and killed on Avenida Desiderio Rodríguez in Torrevieja on Tuesday. The collision catapulted the rider several metres and he was declared dead at the scene by a SAMU Ambulance crew.
There have been several accidents and deaths on the road, last summer an elderly married couple were killed by a speeding vehicle whilst on a pedestrian crossing. Just hours after the couple were killed, a third pedestrian was involved in a hit-and-run but managed to escape with injured ribs.
