Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has hailed the NATO summit in Madrid as a success, as the final day drew to a close.

30 allied countries attended the event, as well as delegates from countries applying for membership of the military alliance.
One of the main outcomes from the gathering was the approval of an increase in common funding from all members, with further defence spending earmarked following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
World leaders from the group also approved the ‘Madrid Strategic Concept‘, which will aim to tackle security risks posed by Russia and China, as well as from parts of Africa and global climate change.
