The number of foreign visitors to Spain fell by 77.3% last year, official data has shown.
In the latest report from the national statistics agency the INE, it confirmed that 19 million international tourists arrived in Spain last year, down from the 83.5 million in 2019, when it was the second most visited country in the world.
Tourists from France were the highest individual nationality visiting the country, replacing those from the UK. The number of British visitors was down 82.4 percent to 3.2 million.
The last time Spain had so few foreign tourists was in the late 1960s.
