An 88-year-old woman has drowned on the beach of El Acequión in Torrevieja and a 57-year-old man was transferred to the hospital with symptoms of drowning, following an incident at Cala Capitán – with both happening within five minutes of each other.
The Emergency Services were told that the unconscious woman had been taken out of the water on the beach of El Acequión in Torrevieja. On arrival the SAMU crew could only confirm her death.
Five minutes later emergency services were called out again to help a 57-year-old man who had been pulled from the water after nearly drowning at Cala Captain. The man was taken to Torrevieja Hospital.
