Twenty houses on an estate in Orihuela are set to be legalised after two-decades of red-tape has finally been cut. The mostly British residents of Los Mazones, who unwittingly bought houses on undeveloped land in 2000, have presented a plan to the council that would allow the development to become legal and finally put the risk of demolition behind them. The plan requires each homeowner to pay 16,500 euros each to meet the legal requirements of urbanisation.
