Policia Nacional in conjunction with German and Albanian forces have arrested over 100 people in raids across parts of the country, as part of a Europol operation into an Albanian drug gang operating in Spain.
107 people were arrested in raids carried out in Tarragona, Barcelona, Girona and Castellón on the 13th July – but whose details have only been made public.
More than 50 clandestine cannabis farms were discovered in the operation, which used an estimaged €1.6 million in stolen electricity to run. A tonne of processed marijuana and 25,000 plants were discovered by officers.
It’s believed the gang grew the drugs in Spain before processing them and smuggling it across Europe.
