The DGT has announced that it has issued over 1,000 denuncias to school bus drivers after checks were carried out in the middle of last month.
Of a total of 2,500 vehicles checked by officers, just under a thousand were found to not comply with regulations surrounding school transport.
Over 700 were found to not be authorised to carry school children, with 230 not possessing the correct insurance.
23 were denounced for excess driving times, whilst 60 lacked essential safety warning signals on board.
Officers however have said there were some positives, with only one driver being found to speeding, and none over the alcohol drink drive limit.
