A gang of would-be people smugglers was stopped in its tracks by National Police before they even began their lethal service. Four Algerian men were arrested after their plans to move people illegally from North Africa to Murcia were rumbled.
The gang had acquired a boat from the south of France and were intercepted before setting off from near La Manga. They planned to pick up 12 passengers for the return journey.
