A National Police Officer is under internal investigation after he was filmed hitting a homeless man on the streets of Alicante. The video shows two officers confronting the man and was filmed by a local resident. The recording was then sent to the provincial daily newspaper Informacion. The officer can be heard shouting ‘film what you want’ and is seen hitting the man and throwing his belongings to the ground.
Police were investigating allegations that the homeless man had defecated in the doorway of a building and was throwing bottles of urine at front doors. The man was reported to be ‘confrontational and aggressive’ and is known to the police.
