The Partido Popular have declared victory in yesterdays regional election in Madrid, according to the preliminary count held after the close of the vote.
There was a significant swing to the centre right in the region, with the PP becoming the largest party, followed by PSOE and Mas Madrid, then Vox and finally Podemos.

Turnout at the election was just under 70%, an increase of 11% on the 2019 vote, and becomes the election with the highest turn out since 2011.
Former coalition partners Ciudadanos appear to have lost all their seats in the regional parliament, following on from yesterdays vote.
Negotiations are set to begin to establish a regional coalition in the coming days.
