Friday’s storm left a record-breaking 33 litres per square meter of rain across the Vega Baja and a hail storm of rarely-seen severity. The heavy weather flooded the streets of several municipalities such as Torrevieja, Orihuela Costa and Pilar de la Horadada, where the water ran like rivers.
The data collected by the Mastral Torrevieja Project gave the highest rainfall recorded in the La Mata Natural Park.
