The reservoirs of the Segura Hydrographic Basin have dropped to just 40 percent of their capacity due to the on-going heat wave. This figure represents a decrease of six cubic hectometres of water according to the relevant water authority. This figure is roughly the same for each of the three Vega Baja reservoirs and is a considerable drop on this time last year.
