Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and his German counterpart – Olaf Scholz – have held their first bilateral meeting at the Moncloa this week.
In the first visit by the new Chancellor since he took office last month, discussions were held over the coronavirus pandemic, as well as climate policy, migration and the funding of the “next generation EU”.
Discussions over Spain’s hosting of this summer’s NATO summit were also held, alongside the security situation in Ukraine.
In a press conference outside the Moncloa, both leaders also announced a Spanish/German summit, which will take place during the first half of this year.
